How location fits into thriller sub-genre:
-the location was changed due to an error with the timing as the empty house we were planning on using was sold so we were unable to film there due to this but the new location is appropriate for the new plot of the filming of a regular teenage girl
- the lived in house is the perfect murder location with it being a regular house like any other so it is unsuspecting to the outside eye and the choice of room with curtains that allow the room to be unseen from the outside allow for a good kill space
- films such as scream use this kind of tactic such as an empty, remote and lived in house for a kill scene as it makes the victim more scared knowing that no one will hear them scream
- another example are the locations used in Dexter which he finds and sets up his kill room in are secluded, sound isolating and easily accessible
How the location is similar to other TV shows or films:
-the location used is similar to TV shows or films such as dexter who uses normal locations for many of his kill rooms as they are not only easily accessible but are also very unsuspecting of any wrongdoing having taken place in this location
-a regular suburban house is used in many films such as scream to show that regular people and regular places can always be used to show dark and mysterious story-lines which surprises the audience but also scares them as they realise that this could potentially happen to anyone
-another similar film is man bites dog who uses the houses of his victims to kill them in which is similar to our idea as we used a regular house that actually belongs to the victim as we used this same technique in our film but instead of using a postman we used a cleaner
