Sherlock Holmes poster analysis
Sherlock Holmes: the tagline is nothing escapes them, this shows how they will catch whatever they are chasing or looking for, Robert Downey JR's expression is very full of himself and smug which shows the way the character acts and behaves, they are detectives as shown by the title as nearly everyone in the world has heard of Sherlock Holmes, the man in the blurred shadows looks very shifty and it is clear that he is the villain of the movie or the thing that they are chasing, 221b is the address of where Sherlock Holmes lives and provides a location of where this movie is set to take place, the location is Baker Street, London, at the bottom there is a box with Solve the Mystery written inside it which implies that they are inviting people to help them solve the problem, it is clearly set in the 1800's as shown by the clothes of each character, the woman at the top left of the poster is clearly the fem fatal of the film as she is the only woman featured on the poster. The genre i clearly a thriller as the mystery element involved as well as an action element. The movie is clearly meant for the younger generations ranging from age 15 to 30 and the movie does provide information on the narrative as it is based upon it
