Preliminary Film

The Script/Storyboard

Analysis of filming/editing the prelim:

Setting up the camera: we first unpacked the box and camera from it case, we then set up the tripod onto the dolly by extending the legs outwards and putting the tripod into place and attaching it in, we then placed the camera on top of the tripod and waited until it clicked into place, we then inserted the battery into the camera and then the tape was inserted so that we could start recording straight away, we then removed the lens covering and adjusted the white balance, then we were ready to record.

Filming the sequence: we used a variety of shots such as an over the shoulder shot, a high and and a low angle shot, and long shot, a tracking shot and a medium shot, we also used eye-line match, the filming was done using the school camera and tripod which had wheels thus allowing us to do a tracking shot, the fact that the wheels on the tripod were able to lock allowed us to film from different angles by moving the camera without it actually moving, we filmed this in school in one of the blocks that agrees with the script as we used a location that we aren't supposed to use and the fact that the script is of someone encouraging another person to 'do it' we took this as being about doing something wrong which is why we used a forbidden location.

Editing: the editing took roughly 30 mins to an hour, as the film was only 40 seconds it was easy to sort and as the shots we filmed were done in order of the scenes it was easy to sort out, the scene don't have that smooth of a progression from one to the other but as it was the first time I had ever edited it was a good attempt.
