Storyboard

Analysis of storyboard effectiveness:
The storyboard clearly shows how each scene is being shot with what camera set-up we will have such as close ups and wide shots, the storyboard plans out the entire film from start to finish showcasing our idea very well, this is a good representation of our final idea as it is the basis for our filming, each scene is explained and sketched out as accurately as possible to give us an accurate plan for how each scene should look when filming

Mood Board for Clean Kill

This Mood board demonstrates our film very clearly - this can be seen through the relevant pictures such as a suburban house which is our setting, hitmen and killers which are the main theme of our film, inept teenage victims which are another theme of our film and pictures of victims and manipulation as well as the rules which is what occurs in our film. All these themes add to the effectiveness of a thriller making our film more tense, exciting and adds to the overall horror and comedy of the film.

Films similar to idea and explanation of influence

-Changes made so some of these films are no longer similar to the actual idea

Dexter

-dexter has been used for our idea as the way that dexter sets up a murder scene is an ideal killing method and we will use similar features such as the plastic sheets in a room, the syringe to knock the person out and the laying out of the tools and the bin bags however we have improved his method so the room is empty meaning cleaning up is easier as well as no unforeseen complications

The Fall

- this has been used to highlight how we are going to deal with the body as we are going to have cut up body parts but we will be placing them in bin bags instead as a method of removal which is efficient and tidy

American Psycho

-this kill scene is from a clip in american psycho and is exactly the kind of thing that we want, a clean, well prepared and well equipped killer but less of a nut case and more of socio-path, our killer is doing it for a reason but this guy has everything but does it for fun

Zombieland

-from this film we are going to use the idea of having rules to kill, except our rules are going to be based on how to pull of a murder and not how to avoid zombies, we are just using the aspect of rules in order to perform an action as not only provides a guide and stages to our film but also sets up which scenes are going to be filmed in what way in order to have the rules appear either before, during or after an action has been completed

Pulp Fiction

-This film is about the lives of two mob hit men, a boxer, a gangster's wife, and a pair of diner bandits intertwine in four tales of violence and redemption. This film provides the idea of a hit-man type kill which we used as a basis for our film, the fact that we have an expert and trained killer allows you to kill in any method as you can almost guarantee they will be successful, but the surprise that anyone can kill also helped us make our movie by using a hit man posing as a cleaner character who is unsuspecting gives reason as to why it is so easy to kill.

Man bites Dog

-this film is very relatable to ours as it involves a regular man with a regular day job who goes into people's house and kills them, this is similar to our idea as we instead use a killer posing as a cleaner who easily gains entry into the victims house on a normal day and while pretending to be a cleaner kills them and then cleans up afterwards but using the victims house is a clever tactic as there is a lack of effort need to find a location as well as you being alone and unsuspecting as a regular looking person

News articles/Real life incidents related to idea and how they help progression

-all of these brutal and psychotic people are clearly inspired by a fictional being who they wish to emulate in all walks of life which has given them a Jekyll and Hyde complex giving them a dual life of normality as well as a psycho who kills and chops people up
-my character has also been influenced by this as it is clear that real people can possess such a sociopathic nature that they are able to commit such horrid crimes without showing any remorse

Feedback on idea

Feedback on idea:
-overall final feedback was generally positive and the changes suggested were taken into account such as not showing the hitman's face in the actually killing scene
-the idea was seen as being both original and an interesting take on home invasion as you can see and conceptualise how easy it actually it to get into someone's house without them knowing your true intentions

Development of idea to include: props, setting, costume, actors,sub-genre and synopsis of whole film

Prezi of original group idea:

new and final developed idea with a change of group instead of Jonathan, yoseph, cesare and Michele it is now Jonathan, yoseph and Sam: person calls cleaning company from yellow pages that is actually a kill for hire service, the hit man who is dressed as a cleaner goes to the house and starts the job, the killer goes into the bedroom and kills the unsuspecting teen with no remorse, he then leaves the scene of the crime with the satisfaction of a job well done, he then sends a message to the phone number that reads: it's done and says the money owed and where to put it

changes made:
- young hit man instead of one middle aged man who looked average
- no narration
- victim is now a teen
- location has changed to a lived in house
- hit man used instead of an amateur

Props:
-use of a watermelon to create a stabbing like sound
-murder weapon is a knife
-plastic sheets to avoid mess
-camera, tripod and microphone are same as prop list
-cleaning bucket to portray cleaner cover
-phone to portray teen as being unaware
Setting:
-will be filmed in an average suburban house
-uses a bedroom, the staircase, the outside of the house and the kitchen
-a regular technology obsessed teenager is left home alone
Costume:                                                                                                                                                   -murderer will be wearing regular clothes such as tracksuit and jumper in order for him to look like a regular person and for him to be able to cover his face
-victim will wear normal teenager clothes such as jeans and a t-shirt in order for it to appear realistic in the sense that both characters are just normal people
Actors:
-murderer will be a regular looking teen who is bigger than the victim and therefore asserts dominance, he is 16-17 years old but however his age is irrelevant in the film
-victim will be a 16-17 year old male in order for it to seem as if a murder can happen to anyone and not just a girl
Sub-genre:
-the film will be a horror thriller
-it will involve an element or horror which is the murder and the thriller element is the fact that the killer is a cleaner who never leaves a mess which is ironic as his posing character is related to his real job as he does clean up
